The Santee 126 Sport has the same multi-chined performance hull, speed, and great looks as our Santee 126 standard, but the deck has our oversized Sport cockpit for easy entrance and exit. And given there's a tad less plastic in the deck, it's also a tad lighter than the Santee 126 coming in at 39 lbs of paddling perfection.

So you want a lightweight kayak that holds course when you're in the straightaway but will carve and edge when you throw it a little lean? Then the multi-chined hull on the Santee 126 is the boat for you. At 12 foot 6 inches, the Santee 126 cuts through the water with ease and, at a mere 40 lbs, is still super easy to get on and off your vehicle. The Santee 126 standard is also one of our drier rides given its smaller, yet still generous, 43 x 20.5 inch cockpit.

Ever wonder why the Santee 116 Sport is Hurricane's best selling kayak? It probably has something to do with its super-stable, excellent tracking Swede form hull. Or maybe it's the oversized Sport cockpit and comfy Airestream seat. Solid ABS bulkheads fore and aft, plus an easy open rear hinge-hatch and comfy thigh pads don't hurt either. When we designed the Santee, we didn’t set out to redefine recreational kayaks. Our goal was to redefine the recreational category. In other words, we wanted to bring a new standard to what rec paddlers could expect on the water, and with the Santee we accomplished the mission.

But we’re different. Hurricane began back in 1998 when a group of kayaking veterans decided it was time to put the paddler back on the proverbial pedestal and the fun back into kayaking.
