New Beginnings

By Ambassador Bill Howard

As 2013 comes to a close, I find myself looking back on it with a bit of disappointment.  This year was a frustrating one, limited time on the water due to health concerns, the wrong place at the wrong time and the lack of cooperation from the fish especially the summer beach tarpon, led to a lack luster year. But there was a shining light at the end of the tunnel that is 2013. The new Skimmer 14.

The Skimmer 14 is Hurricanes newest addition to it’s fleet, and I got to tell you, it’s pretty awesome. Having paddled the Phoenix 14 for nearly a year, and loving it, I was really looking forward to getting in the new Skimmer 14. And it didn’t disappoint.

With the trends in the industry leaning towards heavier, slower kayaks it’s really refreshing to see a 14 foot kayak that only weighs 53 pounds. With extremely clean lines, the new Skimmer 14 is going to turn some heads in 2014.

Until then, tight lines.
